On September 16th, 2009, there will be a screening on the native Spanish grape, Bobal at Citilab in Barcelona from 7-9pm. In collaboration with Catavino,
Citilab and Sommelier Alumni, the documentary will be followed by
a Bobal tasting with wines from both Utiel Requena and neighbouring
Manchuela afterwards.
The event is an opportunity to experience Zev Robinson's 2008 documentary on
the production of wine using the relatively unknown Bobal grape in the
Utiel-Requena region. Although the film
focuses on one specific area, various themes - the transition of bulk
wine to quality bottled wine, falling grape
prices, regionalism and marketing - are common across much of Spain.
Organised and presented by Catavino and Citilab, the event will be a
demonstration of using social media to promote wine. Catavino, one of
the top international wine blogs will both promote and cover the event on their website dedicated to Iberian wine. There will also be a live twitter tasting, with
sommeliers offering their opinions, and consequently, drawing in an international audience.
Alex Duran of
SommelierAlumni will present the Bobal wines, and some
Bobal wines will be selected and made available at Neyras Vins.
El día 16 de Septiembre 2009 desde a las 19:00 hasta a las 21:00, proyección de “La Bobal y otras
historias del vino” de Zev Robinson en Citilab de Barcelona. Le seguirá
una cata de vinos de Bobal de las regiones de Utiel-Requena y
Manchuela, en colaboración con Catavino, Citilab y Sommelier Alummni.
Este evento es una oportunidad para ver la película de Zev Robinson
sobre la producción de vinos con la variedad Bobal. A pesar de estar
centrado en una región específica (Utiel-Requena), la película trata
aspectos comunes a muchas zonas españolas: la transición de granel a
vino embotellado, la caída del precio de la uva, regionalismo y
marketing, etc.
Organizado y presentado por Catavino y Citilab, el acto será una
demostración de cómo se promocionan los vinos utilizando los nuevos
medios, como blogs de vino, twitter, facebook entre otros. Catavino,
uno de los bloggers de vino más importantes a nivel internacional,
promocionarán y cubrirán el evento en su página web sobre el vino
ibérico. Habrá también una cata en directo a través de twitter donde
los sumilleres difundirán su opinión sobre la Bobal a una audiencia
internacional.
